All Good, All The Time

Finally, on-the-go zinc sunscreen that protects for days! Made from a mineral blend of Zinc oxide and botanical ingredients, our popular SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Butter is face sunscreen at its best. Super hydrating and easy to blend thanks to coconut oil and jojoba oil, this sunscreen doesn’t leave your skin greasy and won’t clog your pores (sensitive skin, rejoice!). Zinc oxide actually sits on top of your skin to physically block UVA and UVB rays, and beeswax gives this butter an extra “oomph” in the water department (water-resistant for 80 minutes). Broad spectrum spf in a handy dandy portable tin – can we get a yeehaw for reusable packaging? Rub a dub dub, the best sunscreen butter in a tub.

Okay I’ll consolidate to three points here to make it easy to understand.
1. It’s very white. Because of the zinc formula it’s super chalky and leaves my skin looking sickly because of the bluish green undertone as well.
2. It doesn’t blend or spread well. I honestly hate the texture along with this but it’s just not smooth/buttery enough to spread evenly along my skin (making the white worse). I can’t tell if it actually gets into the spots I rub and feels like a super uneven application no matter how much I try to rub it in. Feels like the first spot it lands is where it stays (I tried rubbing in hands first and applying from can). This feeling like it’s not getting onto the right spots links to third point but it makes me use a lot of product - which you don’t get much of.
3. It’s expensive. 1 oz of formula is nothing, and for $10? Sunscreen is always expensive yes, but 1 oz for $10 means I’d be paying $120 for a 12 oz bottle (a more common size). I was hoping is would rub out nicely and blend in smooth so a little would go a long way and it would last well but since that’s not the case it’s just extremely expensive relative to how much you have to use just on your face let alone full body. If I tried to use this on my entire body I’d get to go to the beach maybe 3 times before I ran out. I want to support small businesses and encourage natural products but unfortunately because this one misses the only things a sunscreen would need to hit for me it’s a no. I hate applying it and would overall not recommend to others. That being said, this is my personal experience so it may not be the same as others.

I use it for surfing. I do like 4 hr sessions and It will stay for a very long time no burns whatsoever.

Excellent for water sports. I can spend two hours surfing and the protection is still there. All natural few ingredients. A little goes a long way.

I live in high desert Albuquerque and while we don't get as hot as Las Vegas or Phoenix ( a common misconception) we get lots of high altitude sunshine. I use the butter on my face, neck and ears. First thing at the pool (almost daily) I shower to wash my face, dry my face, and apply the butter. I likely apply too much, as sometimes I get that "clown white" effect, but I don't care. With blue eyes, fair skin, and a history of skin cancer, "too much" is alright with me. (I also wear a hat in the pool). The protection is excellent, and it lasts and lasts. I suspect 80 minutes is likely all that is allowed to be claimed for water resistance; my experience is that it lasts until I get home and scrub it off with soap and hot water. The consistency is thick and lubricating, and I like that it does not drip into my eyes with the sweat from my brow when I am working in the yard, or biking. I read that it is gluten free, but I still do not intend to eat it! Neither should you!

I like the texture and tint and the feel of it on my skin, but definitely did not like the apparently permanent brown stains on the neck area of our reef guards. I have tried emailing AllGood about this but the emails aren??t being delivered. I would like to know what is in the product that won??t come out of fabric, and am wondering if it??s something I shouldn??t want on my skin.
